Cheryl Stanley is an emerging Canadian artist drawn to the beauty and nostalgia found in everyday places and objects. An avid observer, she paints these scenes to offer a glimpse into moments that feel both familiar and timeless. Working primarily in acrylic and watercolour, her paintings are inspired by the world around her—whether it’s a colourful garden, an old building or landscape, or the intricate patterns in a simple plate of oysters. From a young age, art has played a central role in Cheryl’s life; a paintbrush or crayon was rarely out of reach. Her creative energy has flowed through every chapter—from working with children and freelancing in food photography to even the most routine office jobs. Now, as an empty-nester, she’s embracing the opportunity to focus more fully on painting and artistic growth. Born and raised in downtown Toronto, Cheryl now divides her time between her home studio in Stratford, Ontario, and a place by the water (and her grandbaby) in New Brunswick. You can often meet Cheryl and see her work during the summer at Stratford’s Art in the Park, where she proudly exhibits alongside a vibrant community of local artists..
