I paint quiet, modern landscapes for people who are drawn to simplicity, clarity, and a more grounded way of living. My work is rooted in the belief that spaces affect how we feel, and that art can create a sense of calm, steadiness, and connection within everyday life. I grew up in Alaska, where freedom wasn’t an idea—it was something you felt in your body. Wide open space, long stretches of quiet, changing weather, and a deep connection to the natural world shaped how I experience the world around me. That sense of vastness—and of being held within it—has stayed with me throughout my life and continues to inform my work today. I paint fields, barns, and open horizons—not to document a specific place, but to express a state of being. The landscapes are simplified and pared down to their essential forms, allowing space for feeling, memory, and reflection. My work is about breath, stillness, and the feeling of coming back to yourself. I believe the sacred is not separate from ordinary life. It exists in quiet moments: a horizon line, the shift of light across a field, the silence of open land. Painting becomes a way of paying attention to those moments and honoring their presence. My background in graphic design and user-centered design continues to shape my approach. I’m interested in restraint, balance, and visual clarity—using simple shapes, texture, and a reduced palette so the emotional presence of the work can come through without distraction. Each painting is meant to be lived with over time—through morning light, quiet evenings, and the in-between moments where we seek rest, grounding, and a sense of home..
