Diana Wilkes - Sun, Sea, and a Faithful Friend - Acrylic on cradled wood panel

I am a Canadian artist who plays with light, shadows, reflections, and colour. I lead you into exciting ways of seeing patterns and shapes that play with our imaginations—in ways we may have not seen before. I am best known for my waterscapes but I also paint a variety of landscapes, florals, and abstracts—all inspired by the beautiful West Coast.

Playing with intuition, I blur the line between realism and abstraction and seek not to imitate nature but to showcase its unique elements. I like to explore a subject, emphasizing design and teasing out the mood or whimsy that an image evokes. It’s all about the “feels” for me and I hope for you too!

I have participated in juried art shows here in BC, New Zealand, and international online shows. My artwork is displayed in homes and businesses throughout Canada, the US, and New Zealand. My large painting of a sunlit, forest trail hangs in the lobby of the new Covenant House Vancouver for at risk youth. 20% of my sales are donated. My “heart” goes into every piece I create!
