Amanda Blaine is a Canadian painter and potter based in St. Albert, Alberta. Rooted in Western Canada, her work is inspired by the quiet intensity of the natural world that surrounds her. She is drawn to how individual elements — colour, texture and movement — come together to form something expressive, vibrant and alive. Working primarily in acrylic, Amanda’s painting style blends modern impressionism with bold, intuitive colour and visible brushwork. She balances recognizable forms with moments of abstraction, allowing emotion and energy to guide each piece. Amanda is best known for her colourful animal portraiture, particularly wildlife of the West. From powerful grizzly bears and watchful wolves to delicate, overlooked creatures, she captures the spirit and presence of each subject with warmth and curiosity. Her paintings reflect a deep respect for the natural world and the connection we share with it. Art is both refuge and ritual for Amanda. By day, she works full-time in communications; by night, she creates with paint and clay. In the studio, the noise of the world softens — replaced by focus, intuition, and the simple joy of making..
